‘The Viral Delusion’ is a documentary film whose 5 videos in total run about 7 hours, and as far as I am aware does the best job at showing how mainstream medical science is largely mistaken regarding the root causes of disease and also showing that the entire field of ‘virology’ is essentially pseudo-science. This first video in series is available for free, the entire series costs $11.99 and it is by far the best investment I have ever made.
How does one get all of mankind and its ‘leading experts’ and ‘great leaders’ to realize they are making monumental errors? If we could go back in time just 300 years near the famed Salem With Trials, it would be easy to realize that just about everything about how man saw the world at the time was pure mythology. If you told the people at the time that man and women should have same freedoms, that homosexuality is part of homo sapiens, and that man is essentially a slightly smarter ape who shared a common ancestor with Chimps (I’ll assume they knew what Chimps were) about 6 million years ago, the people would understandably see you as some devilish monstrosity and quickly conspire to kill you. Would this make the people ‘evil’ or malicious? Or part of some “conspiracy” of ‘established elites’ who wanted to take away your freedoms? Of course not, they would be fellow homo sapiens acting based on the myths of the time and the existing ideological and incentive structures. It is vitally important that we see mainstream science as a Priesthood held together by the faith of its subjects as well as its Bishops/Popes (doctors/experts), a priesthood that arises thanks to the complexity of the biochemical order which allows its myths to form in a manner that is difficult to debunk. If we properly see mainstream medical science as a priesthood based on errors/myths we put the onus on them to explain why their “science” is NOT based on myth and we can have dialog and persuade more people about the errors. If we make the mistake of saying that mainstream medical science is a “conspiracy” by malicious “big pharma”, then we make two monumental errors. 1) We make the error of believing in a “conspiracy” when the deeper causes are simply social structures that evolve due to mythology arising out of complexity(afterlife, etc. in case of Church, biochemical complexity leading to Scientism, economic complexity leading to Socialism/Communism), 2) We create a dangerous adversarial relationship and mistakenly blame a malice which is not really the main culprit. It would be a monumental error to refer to the Catholic Church in pre-Darwin days as some well-plotted “conspiracy” to control mankind. It would be just as foolish to believe that language had to be invented by some clever caveman. Dr. Stefan Lanka, one of the leaders in debunking the entire field of virology rightly discusses how when he first realized that virology was mistaken, he initially thought that it was then some kind of scam, something that implies various levels of malicious conspiracy, but as time went by and he started to study the history of virology he rightly changed his mind to see virology and mainstream medical science, again, not as a conspiracy, but as what emerges from mythology arising from the complexity of the biochemical order and numerous complex incentives.
Every time man got closer to the truth or some of the myths were overturned the early myth-busters often times had to pay with their lives (Galileo, Bruno). The myths are much much harder to change when they are spread and sustained by government force/taxes which can make it a criminal act to go against them or leave less wealth to sustain alternatives. For example, it is a criminal act in the United States to give medical advice without a license. The license can only be obtained by adhering to a current body of knowledge/myths. If a new idea emerges which shows the current paradigm is wrong, not only will it be an embarrassment to the existing ‘Priesthood’ but the millions upon millions of people who have invested heavily in the current myths will see their investments be relatively worthless, and not to mention their sense of importance. The religious priests of the past lost their importance as science spread, most of today’s doctors and pharmaceutical industry is likewise about to lose its sense of grandeur.
The great free-market economist Thomas Sowell writes:
“People will forgive you for being wrong, but they will never forgive you for being right — especially if events prove you right while proving them wrong.”
This is happening in a sort of civilization-wide manner.
The good.
The documentary does an amazing job at showing not just how mainstream medical science gets things wrong, but just as importantly it looks at the history of how such myths were formed. Essentially numerous factors led to the myth that many diseases are due to contagion either by pathogenic bacteria or alleged smaller critters known as viruses, which is mistaken. Diseases are biochemical breakdowns in living things which occur due to anything that deviates significantly from the ideal biochemical balance that natural selection has crafted for all living things and their environments. Disturbances/diseases are caused by, 1) improper nutrition which eventually leads to biochemical break-downs/imbalances which eventually manifest themselves as disease, 2) toxins , for example as in the case of the polio epidemics eating food or have their entire bodies doused in DDT and countless other chemicals like arsenic-based insecticides which can once again wreak havoc in our ‘naturally selected’ order.
The documentary does a superb job of addressing countless potential objections, has some of the best clips from the most courageous and influential voices in the non-mainstream medical community. People like Peter Duesberg, Stefan Lanka, Karry Mullis, John Lauritsen, Andrew Kaufman, Thomas Cowan, Celia Farber and countless others.
I just can’t praise it enough, even if one disagrees with parts or even most, any honest truth-seeker will find plenty of insightful material to ponder about. Even if one assumes that this series is put together by a bunch of “contrarians” or malicious people who want to get $11.99 from people by “praying on their fears” or “ignorance” , even if that were the case, even if it was 100% pure charlatanism….it is still a superb series showing how from complexity people can take advantage to sucker others and how people can be so cruel or malicious, and if that is the case, then the errors and lies should be exposed and this series provides an easy one-stop place for mainstream science to defend itself and to also learn about how people can be so seemingly malicious/charlatans. I, of course, think that the series is awesome and everyone associate with it are heroes.
The bad.
My only significant criticism of the film relates to a theme that has already been mentioned. At times the video treats the existing medical establishment too much as a conspiracy of malicious ‘big pharma’ as opposed to the more nuanced mythical structure. The talk about the Rockefellers somehow maliciously pushing for germ theory of disease to purposely bring attentions away from their chemical manufacturing, etc. even if it were true, it should be seen as just one of the many factors in the creation of myths, and NOT as part of some conspiracy. The Rockefellers were also major backers and provided funding for various writings of the great economist Ludwig von Mises, the last thing any corrupt crony-capitalist would want to do is help Mises spread his pro-freedom views. So again, my only criticism is not looking at our problems as the result of complex socioeconomic factors arising from mythology arising from complexity enough. If the dissenters fuck this up, if the dissenters mistakenly blame “conspiracy” instead of complex “mythology” we will make a mistake that will prevent our other truths from spreading.
